about

Flowers is a dark song that is about letting go of unhealthy pain and grief even if that means letting go of someone that was unfairly taken from you. I was very scared to write this song because I was also consumed by that darkness and that sadness. My brief experience with that sense of loss affected me so much and I didn’t know how to deal with that other than writing it down. I would never wish the grief I witnessed on anyone.

lyrics

Dream of me for the last time
Turn the frames around and sleep for one night
Dust will fall reclaim the walls
So close the books you read they won't bring me to your bedside
Fog will rise from your sad eyes
You haven't won you haven't lost but it's time
To leave this town give up the fight
Leave the ruins, leave it all behind
Chorus
And throw away the flowers
Throw away the flowers
You can't keep it all, so let the petals fall
And throw away the flowers
Half a heart not half the person you are
Move on from this and write a brighter chapter
Get off the floor there's so much more
It doesn't have to be sadly ever after
Chorus
Break your fears, I don't make you whole
I hear your tears, and I release your soul
So throw away the flowers yeah x2
Chorus
