about

I cried so much writing Loved Him More. It was extremely cleansing and very hard to write. This song is so candid, I basically explain how I wrote it in the song. Its an apology from my 23-year-old self to my 18-year old self who was hurting over a boy that wasn’t worth that pain. Hindsight can suck really bad. After being dragged through the mud by this guy for what felt like years and finding this letter I wrote him long before I got out saying all the right things was really eye opening and really painful actually. Because if I had loved and respected myself as much as I loved him, I could have spared myself a lot of pain. This song went through many stages of arrangement as well, and I cried over that too, because it was very frustrating. So I’m really happy this song turned out the way it did. I hope you enjoy it

lyrics

Digging him up from the past just to write the story
Reading every letter that I wrote every word I buried
Open up my chest open up every thought I wouldn't think
Paper comes alive ‘cause I never wrote to him I wrote to me
I'm sorry I let you fall so hard
I'm sorry I never told you "you're stronger than this"
I'm sorry I let you disregard
Every ounce of dignity that you had left
Chorus
Can't forget
I don't wanna live with regret
But I'm sorry it's true
I loved him more than you
You were right, and I'll listen next time
All of the doors you could've walked through
But I loved him more than you
Making him happy never should've been my number one
Blaming him all these years when I held the smoking gun
I held you to the wall you were stuck between the hardest place
You dared to treat you better when you told him to do the same
I'm sorry I didn't let you leave that day
I'm sorry I let him hurt you over and over again
And you knew that he wasn't worth the pain
But I broke all your bones so you'd fit anyway
Chorus
The letters say dear me, but all I heard was dear him
Begging to be free from chains that come from within
Now I know what it feels like to live and love
‘Cause I let you die once
Chorus x2
